The term blood pressure refers to the process of blood being pumped via the heart around the rest of the body and the necessary force (pressure) required to push the blood along the blood vessels. Therefore some level of blood pressure is required for this action to take place but health problems can occur when blood pressure is high as this puts extra strain on the arteries and heart. 

A recent article in the Guardian suggests that highlighting and promoting the use of Primary Care Services could help to ease the pressure on hospital Accident and Emergency Departments.
